What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my drive to create the best life possible for my children and myself.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received was to never be afraid to take on something you have never done before. You never know what you are good at until you have experienced it.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice I would give to young women entering government work or the IT industry in general would be to keep showing up and keep showing them what your abilities and skills are. Sometimes women are overlooked in this industry, but with perseverance, you can achieve and even exceed your goals. Always believe in yourself even when you don't think anyone else does because even when you feel at your lowest, there really is someone that truly believes in you. You just don't see it through your own criticisms.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important values in my work and personal life are family, quality time, and being present for my kids—whether it’s swimming, hiking, road trips, travel, or cheering them on at band, track, and volleyball events.
