Jackie Vollbracht is a dedicated and high-achieving student at High Point University, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Business Administration. As a Presidential Founders Scholar, she has demonstrated academic excellence and leadership across multiple campus organizations. Jackie currently serves as Vice President of both the Society of Physics Students and the ADA Club, where she advocates for disability awareness and inclusivity through education and campus initiatives. She also represents the Webb School of Engineering as a Senator in the Student Government Association, where her passion for accessibility has led to meaningful policy changes and earned her the honor of Senator of the Year for 2024–2025.
In addition to her leadership roles, Jackie works as a Supplemental Instruction Leader and peer writing coach, helping students master programming, mathematics, and academic writing. Her commitment to mentorship and academic success is matched by her drive to apply her skills beyond the classroom—most notably as an accredited intern lead for a summer web development project, where she gained hands-on experience in HTML coding, project management, and collaborative leadership.
Outside of academics, Jackie is a member of the High Point University Club Rowing Team, where teamwork and perseverance have helped her and her team earn multiple first-place finishes. She continues to balance her studies, leadership roles, and extracurriculars with enthusiasm and focus, driven by a passion for technology, education, and creating spaces that empower others to thrive.

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my passion for advocacy, perseverance, and commitment to creating meaningful change—qualities that helped me achieve accomplishments such as being named Senator of the Year and passing resolutions to improve campus accessibility and inclusivity.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my mentor, Mr. Jonathan Whitfield, who guided me with wisdom and encouragement to help me reach where I am today.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise young women entering my industry to be adaptable, as there’s always a lesson in finding new ways to communicate and persevere.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are empathy and the ability to listen well, and I also enjoy spending time with friends through game nights, reading, video games, and participating in my club rowing team.
