About Jacqueline
I have been in the insurance industry for over 30 years, and I'm currently working as a liability insurance adjuster, a role I've held for the past 5 years. My journey in insurance began in personal lines where I worked as an agent and in claims. I then spent about 15 years in commercial lines, working with large contractors in Las Vegas. Pretty much everyone you've seen that's built a house in this area, I've done their insurance policy. After that, I took some time off when my son was about 8 to be a stay-at-home mom. During that break from insurance, I spent around 5 years serving legal process in Las Vegas, which was an exciting job. Eventually, I decided to get back into insurance on the claims side. I think the problem with insurance is once you fall into it, it's very hard to get out of because the pay is just not going to be comparable in any other field if you're moving into something new. Even though I have an associate's degree rather than a bachelor's, my experience level has allowed me to be in the same category as someone with a bachelor's degree. I'm licensed in 17 states and hold both P&C and life and health licenses, though I've put the life insurance license on the back burner for now. I'm thinking about possibly doing that part-time and maybe retiring from my current position. What inspired me to go into insurance was my early interest in becoming an attorney, because insurance is very legal and you have to remember and know a lot of the laws that pertain to the state you're licensed in.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say yes, because it's a lucrative field, and it's a field where women can actually excel and make just as much money as a man. It's a respectable field. It's something that you can learn in and grow. So, I mean, I would definitely recommend it to anyone young.
