Her Story

About Jennifer

I've always been in human resources, and I recently moved to the banking and technology industry in September 2025, coming from the commercial real estate industry. In my younger days, I was in the financial industry, so this transition feels like coming full circle. It's been a fantastic journey with a company that's really striving to move forward. As a functional analyst, I oversee our workday HRS system, which serves employees in several locations across the country. Everything we build is designed to help advance, streamline, and make things easier for employees day in and day out. I'm constantly working with AI integration and building out new features. One of my big projects for 2026 is developing a new onboarding process with our learning development team, creating an experience that makes new hires feel part of the team from the moment they walk in the door and beyond. I also build out hubs to assist managers as they transition with new hires and throughout their time with the company. My work involves extensive testing, collaborating with different departments and our project manager, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. I hold my SHRM CP certification, and early in my career, I earned financial security licenses. These credentials help me look at the whole picture and make a real difference in helping people.

Ten minutes with Jennifer

01What do you attribute your success to?

Really, a lot of times, I think it's the team and the people that you work with. I have such a fantastic group that I work with, they inspire me. Working with them in all different departments, but especially the core group that we have, mostly women in our group, they are just inspiring, and they make me want to be a better person.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

We just had one of the executives come out and talk about what they learned as they grew, working with different managers and people. I think a lot of it's just when you're dealing with people, you have to take that 10 seconds, and regardless of what kind of criticism you get, say if you're working on a project and people are giving you feedback or criticism, it's always just to remember to take that 10 seconds and not take it personally. It's so important to remember it's not personal, it's about the business. It's about trying to enhance things. For me, that was one of the things, remembering not to take things personal. There's always going to be times you're going to succeed, you're going to fail. It's not personal when you're working on stuff and people are picking it apart.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Really, again, every day's a challenge, and you just gotta look at every day as a challenge, but in a positive way. It's trying to set yourself your goals, and you strive to achieve them. When you walk in that door and you get frustrated or something like that, that advice would be like, it's okay, take that second to think about it, but know that everything that you do makes a difference, and you're trying to assist other people.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Well, I mean, right now, AI. AI is a big challenge. We're setting this stuff up, and it's exciting to rush into those things, but you still have to take the time to screen everything, look at everything. We cannot rush. AI is important, but in our industry, it's so important for security and making sure that everything's locked down, that we're taking care of not only our customers, but our employees, and making sure that we're secure. AI's gonna be great, and it's gonna make a difference, but not to run blindly into it.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

It's really trying to help other people and making that difference for them. Because everything I do, I know it affects all the people within our company. And it's knowing that just making that difference for me is something that I value very much, knowing that I'm helping those people, the others, knowing that as these new hires come in, the experience that they're going to have is going to make them want to stay with this company and want to make them strive to do better as well.
