Her Story
About Jessica
I have a huge heart for hospitality, and it's been my focus for my entire career spanning over 8 years. It all started with internships in college at Southern Methodist University where I worked with music venues, including Legacy Food Hall, a 55,000 square foot food hall and music venue in North Dallas. I spent my first four full-time years with them leading their events and marketing program through New Year's celebrations, cocktail classes, Chinese New Year, and everything in between. As that role evolved, I got more involved in other areas of marketing within the business including PR, email strategy, and brand work. I then moved to Milkshake Concepts, an experiential restaurant group based in Dallas, as their Director of Marketing. That was a super fun role because I got to work with seven different brands, from chicken wing sports bars to fine dining steakhouses and Mexican cocinas, experiencing all different elements of hospitality. Restaurants is where my heart really is. For the last year and a half, I've been self-employed under my own name, Jessica Kruebbe Marketing and Strategy, with a couple clients on retainer and some one-off projects supporting emerging hospitality brands. I position myself as a mini CMO, a Swiss Army knife for these brands. My bread and butter is local store marketing, helping these smaller brands embed themselves in their community and generate relationships and partnerships in their cities. I spent 7 years building my career in Dallas, and just moved to Nashville a year ago. The clients I service are primarily in the Dallas area, though I've done some projects in Nashville and recently sent a proposal to concepts in Madison, Indiana. I'm open to anything, but want to grow more in Nashville specifically.

01What do you attribute your success to?
So many things contribute to my success. I am a woman of faith, so my relationship with God is a real guiding factor in how I conduct myself and my business, and has brought a lot of blessings into my life. My network is crucial - finding people that I trust and rely on to help encourage me, challenge me, and take me to the next level has been extremely valuable. And then there's my sense of curiosity and willingness to stretch myself outside of my comfort zone. Having a network of trusted advisors is extremely valuable, especially as I go through things where I might not have the answer or I'm not sure how to go about things. These are probably the top three things that have led to my success.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be resourceful. You can do a lot more than you think you can do when you're put in situations where you just have to figure things out. So don't be afraid of stretching yourself.
