Her Story

About Joanna

I am a licensed and ordained pastor who has created a Christian business that combines ministry with entrepreneurship. I develop encouragement products and provide faith-based services, including one-on-one counseling and coaching. At my church, I serve as a leader and have the opportunity to work directly with constituents, providing counsel and support. I published a book called Breaking Free: Breakthrough and Freedom, which helps people experience healing through prayer and the Word of God. I teach a framework that guides people through their healing journey. I also speak at conferences - in 2023, I led my first major workshop on maintaining deliverance and healing. Everything I do centers around faith-based healing, breakthrough, and helping people overcome fear and doubt through spiritual guidance. I'm currently transitioning more into digital products while continuing to offer services and one-on-one coaching.

Ten minutes with Joanna

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute all of my success to the Lord. I am who I am, and I have the ability to do what I can do, because of Jesus Christ. Everything I've accomplished is because of Him, and I give all the glory to God.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was from my mentor, who told me to put God first and allow God to be the CEO of my business. They encouraged me to have daily business meetings with God - not just regular prayer that you do every day, but dedicated time when you go to God specifically about instruction and strategies concerning business. Having that dedicated time has been beneficial and helpful. I would say to anybody, whether they're an entrepreneur or they're interested in working a regular 9 to 5, that putting God first and letting God lead you will help you see the fruit and benefit in your life, in your home, in your family, and in every aspect of your life.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Pray. I always say pray. It's good to have a mentor. One thing I realized early on, when I wanted to enter into business and build a personal brand and build a business, is that I needed a mentor - someone who would lead me, people who've been where I've been who can help take me to the next level. I prayed to the Lord and asked, 'I need a mentor, who should I be with?' So my advice is to pray and seek God for direction, and also look for someone who could mentor you, who's been down the path that you want to go.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

From a people or client perspective, a lot of people have a challenge just dealing with overcoming doubt or overcoming fear. Fear a lot of times can paralyze people and hold them back or keep them stagnant. On the spiritual side, people deal a lot with fear and doubt.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are honesty, integrity, respect, and transparency. But I think the most important thing is to lead with love.
