Her Story
About Kristine
I've been working in strategic partnerships and brand development for over a decade, initially doing this work on the side for other companies before deciding to work for myself. I spent years in corporate environments that were often toxic, working in various management roles including as a manager at a uniform company, an administrator and manager for Bartlett Tree Experts, and an office manager at different places including a chiropractic business. About four years ago, after going on maternity leave, I made the decision to launch my own business and work from home with my kids. It's a constant juggle, but it's totally worth it because I get to be home with my children. My business is called Wilder Creative, and I run a strategic partnerships and visibility agency. I work with a non-profit for veterans helping them with major fundraising efforts in the millions of dollars. I also work with two therapists who are burnt out and want to transform their careers. For one, I produce and host his podcast called Holding Space, helped him write his book, and I'm helping him transition into public speaking. For another therapist, I've helped her write her first book, she's started on her second, I've built her website, and I'm helping her develop master classes. I do all of their social media management as well. I think eventually my business will probably go in the direction of helping those who are burnt out and want to reclaim their time and their efforts. Beyond my business work, I also have a master's degree in clinical herbalism and wrote a book on herbs and gut health when I was pregnant with my daughter. My family and I don't go to the doctor - I treat everybody here at home using natural remedies. I've had to reinvent myself so many times, including after losing almost everything in a hurricane just a month after moving to Florida two years ago. Now we own a house in Nashville, and my business is at a point where I'm comfortable. I'm not exactly where I want to be, but I'm comfortable, and I'm doing it while also being home with my kids. I feel like I've finally gotten there, and I got myself there.

Ten minutes with Kristine
01What do you attribute your success to?
I've had to reinvent myself so many times throughout my life. I lost my mom 14 years ago, and just two years ago when we moved to Florida to be closer to family, we lost almost everything in a hurricane that came a month after we got there. All the money from the sale of our house in New Jersey went bye-bye. It's always been something that has held me back or seriously challenged me in some way. But now we own a house in Nashville, and my business is at a point where I'm comfortable. I'm not exactly where I want to be, but I'm comfortable, and I'm doing it while also being home with my kids. I feel like I've finally gotten there, like I did finally get to a point where I'm kind of like, okay, you know what I mean? And I got myself there. So I'm seriously proud of it.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I know it's so cliche, but follow what you're passionate about. Because if you don't care about it, you're not gonna put the same amount of energy. If you're obsessed with something, you're more likely to succeed.
