Her Story

About Lorie

I've been a certified motivational coach since 2006 and have been working as a health coach for about 3 years, building on over 40 years of experience in the finance industry. My main area of expertise is body, mind, and wellness, specifically connecting women with clarity and sustaining a healthy lifestyle after 50 years old. Growing up, I was always taught that education comes first and that you need to nourish your body. During my years in finance, I noticed that in certain areas, economically, they weren't providing financial services or health services relating to financials. That's what made me want to leave and start doing financial wellness and health and wellness, especially for women over 50. Being a woman over 50 myself, I found that we work so hard building our careers, raising our families, and we forget about ourselves, and that includes women working in different areas and also women working in corporate America. That's why I had the gift and the purpose to do this. My key responsibilities include making sure my clients have accessibility to me, connecting with them, and making sure they're reaching their goals and changing their lives. I have that personal connection with them, letting them know I know what they're going through and we can get through this together. I'm in my 60s, and it doesn't matter what age you are, you can still find your peace, have those healthy habits, and be the person you always wanted to be in your second act. I'm a very faith-based person, and I put God first in my life all the time. Without him, I would not be the person that I am today.

Ten minutes with Lorie

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from God, my strong faith, my family, and surrounding myself with loving, supportive people who support and love me. That's it, and just being who I am. Success is what you think your success is. Without the people who truly love and support me, I wouldn't be successful, because success isn't monetary, isn't money, it's about who you are.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

During my years in finance, the best advice I received was that it's all about connecting with other people and being genuine and authentic. Everyone doesn't come as a cookie cutter. You treat everyone the way you wish to be treated, like family. Being in the finance industry as long as I have, I've seen good managers and ones that I really learned from. Being a leader doesn't just isn't just a title. It's about being a human being, and understanding it, and treating that person like a real person, like you see them, and understanding what they're trying to do. Treat people the way you want them to be treated. It's very simple.
