About Medina
I've been in the healthcare field for my entire career, starting in my 20s as a pharmacy technician. After going back to school and getting my bachelor's degree, I had the opportunity to step into different spaces within the health system. I noticed that there were a lot of patients who were not able to receive their regular primary care, so I worked with the CFO, Eric Young, at Harnett Health in North Carolina to create a program where physicians would donate their time to take care of these patients. On the back end, I worked in pharmacy and was able to go to manufacturers and get the patients free medication through their patient assistance program. Stepping into that space overall definitely sparked my interest in working on the pharmaceutical side, just to kind of dive in a bit deeper and learn so much more. Over time, I stayed within the healthcare system but transitioned positions, getting the opportunity to work for a large pharmaceutical industry distribution center, starting off with McKesson. From working with McKesson, just within the pharmacy space, I was able to step into an actual sales role, and that's where I have the last 6 and a half to 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales specifically. Today, my area of expertise is in multi-specialty infusion centers, working with infusion centers on treating patients of all kinds, whether it is for asthma allergy all the way down to anybody who has rheumatology issues. The rheumatology space has been really, really great for me, definitely something where I was more intrigued in and been successful with specifically.
