Ten minutes with Michelle

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the experiences and people who have crossed my path throughout my life. Each lesson, whether challenging or uplifting, has shaped my perspective and pushed me to grow into a better version of myself. I’ve been surrounded by individuals who saw more in me and encouraged me to step into that potential, and for that, I am deeply grateful.

My family has been my greatest source of motivation. They’ve given me more than enough reasons to keep going, even in moments where it would have been easier to stop. Their love and support remind me daily of why I do what I do.

Because of that, I carry a responsibility to pour into others—to show up, to serve, and to help people create stability and protection for their own families. Success, for me, isn’t just personal achievement; it’s the ability to uplift others along the way. And I’m just the messenger.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the best pieces of career advice I’ve ever received is to always surround yourself with people who empower you. The environments and relationships you choose play a significant role in how you grow, think, and show up in the world. Being around individuals who challenge you, support you, and inspire you to elevate creates a foundation for long-term success.

I’ve also learned that every new opportunity doesn’t require perfection—it requires consistency. Growth comes from being willing to learn, adapt, and apply new information, even when you’re still figuring things out. Staying open and committed to the process has allowed me to evolve both personally and professionally, and it’s something I carry with me in every space I enter.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

One of the most important things I would share with young women entering this industry is to give yourself the time and grace to grow. Building yourself—your confidence, your knowledge, and your presence—doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a process.

It’s easy to focus on how quickly you can achieve success, but true, lasting success is built on consistent effort, discipline, and how you show up for the people you serve. Stay committed to learning, remain consistent in your actions, and trust that your confidence will develop over time.

Most importantly, remember that the work you’re doing matters. When you lead with purpose and genuinely care about the families you’re helping, everything else begins to align. Good things that last take time—so be patient with yourself and keep going.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is helping people shift their mindset around financial protection. Many individuals and families still view life insurance as something optional or something to “get to later,” especially with the rising cost of living. There’s also a level of misinformation and hesitation that can make it difficult for people to fully understand how these tools are designed to support them not just in the future, but in their present lives as well.

At the same time, that challenge creates one of the greatest opportunities. There is a growing need for education, transparency, and guidance—especially for families who want to build and protect what they’ve worked hard for. More people are beginning to ask questions, seek clarity, and take control of their financial decisions, and that opens the door for meaningful conversations.

For me, this is where I lean into my purpose. I have the opportunity to meet people where they are, provide insight, and help them make informed decisions that align with their goals. It’s not just about offering a product—it’s about creating understanding, building trust, and helping families feel secure in the choices they make.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

At the core of both my personal life and my work are values rooted in integrity, honesty, and accountability. Being from the South, I was raised on the belief that your word carries weight—your word is your bond. If I say I’m going to do something, I stand on that. That level of consistency and follow-through is something I take seriously, because it’s how trust is built and maintained.

I also believe strongly in being ethically sound in everything I do. Whether I’m working with families, handling sensitive information as a Notary Public, or guiding someone through financial decisions, I understand that people are trusting me during important moments in their lives. That’s not something I take lightly.

To me, relationships—both personal and professional—are built on trust, respect, and transparency. And the only way to truly earn that is by showing up with integrity every single time.
