Monica (MJP) Portley, M.S.Ed.L, is a dedicated educator and community leader passionate about empowering others through education and service. As the Associate Director at Future Leaders Outreach Network, she has spent the past several years advancing the organization’s mission to promote community engagement, leadership development, and lifelong learning. In her role, Monica oversees programs focused on teaching, community service, and computer literacy—helping bridge gaps in access and opportunity for individuals of all ages. Her leadership reflects a deep commitment to nurturing future leaders and strengthening community connections through education.
Monica’s academic background reflects her passion for education and leadership. She holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Northwest Missouri State University, where she graduated with High Distinction, and a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education from Ashford University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for her compassion, dedication, and ability to design programs that respond to community needs while inspiring others to reach their full potential.

I attribute my success to my unwavering passion for youth development and my commitment to helping students and adults realize their potential. Every smile, every breakthrough moment reminds me why I do what I do—to guide, inspire, and empower the next generation to dream bigger and achieve more.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are creativity, compassion, and integrity—I believe in leading with heart, staying true to myself, and finding joy and inspiration in everything I do, whether I’m mentoring youth or creating something new.
