Her Story

About Rachna

Rachna Vashistha is a technology leader with over 16 years of experience in Salesforce, go-to-market (GTM) systems, and enterprise transformation. She began her career as a developer, working deep in backend systems, where she built a strong technical foundation that continues to shape her approach to problem-solving today.

Over the years, Rachna has evolved into a strategic leader, driving global initiatives that transform how organizations scale their revenue systems. Her work spans CRM, CPQ, ERP, and AI-driven GTM ecosystems, where she focuses on building scalable, intelligent architectures that enable businesses to grow efficiently. Her journey has been one of continuous learning and reinvention. Transitioning from an individual contributor to a leader required not just technical expertise, but also confidence, resilience, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments often as one of the few women in the room. Rather than waiting for opportunities, Rachna believes in creating her own seat at the table and using her voice to drive impact.

An active member of the Salesforce Trailblazer community, Rachna is passionate about knowledge sharing and community building. She has spoken at Salesforce events and was recently a speaker at a GTM conference in San Francisco, where she shared insights on modern revenue systems and the role of AI in shaping the future of work. She holds a Master’s degree in Professional Science and Management, blending technical and business disciplines to support her leadership journey. She is currently working on publishing an article on AI chatbots, reflecting her ongoing commitment to innovation.

Beyond her professional achievements, Rachna is deeply passionate about mentoring and empowering women in technology. She believes that true leadership is not just about personal success, but about lifting others along the way. Through mentorship, advocacy, and storytelling, she aims to inspire more women to step into leadership roles, take risks, and shape the future of technology.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Rachna

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to continuous learning, adaptability, and the willingness to step outside my comfort zone. Starting from a technical foundation, I intentionally expanded into business and leadership roles by understanding how technology drives real outcomes. I’ve also learned to create my own opportunities and speak up, especially in environments where representation was limited. Mentoring and supporting other women in tech has been equally important to me, and I believe success is not just about personal growth, but helping others grow along the way.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I’ve received is: “Don’t wait to be invited to the table—bring your own chair.” It taught me the importance of self-advocacy and speaking up, especially in environments where you may be underrepresented. Instead of waiting for opportunities, I learned to take ownership of my growth and step into roles even when I didn’t feel fully ready. That mindset has been instrumental in my transition into leadership and continues to shape how I mentor and support others.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice would be to stay curious, take initiative, and be willing to step into opportunities, even if you don’t feel fully prepared.

Early in your career, it’s common to feel like you need to meet every requirement before moving forward. In reality, growth often comes from taking on challenges and learning along the way. Trust your ability to figure things out as you go.

It’s also important to build a solid foundation, whether in technical skills, business understanding, or problem-solving. That foundation will give you the confidence to navigate new roles and responsibilities over time.

Equally important is learning to speak up and make your contributions visible. Ask questions, share your perspective, and don’t hesitate to participate in conversations. Finding mentors can be incredibly valuable, but advocating for yourself is just as critical.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities right now is the rise of AI and its potential to transform go-to-market operations. We’re moving from systems that primarily store and report data to systems that can actually automate workflows, generate insights, and support decision-making in real time. This has the potential to significantly improve productivity across sales, customer success, and operations teams.

At the same time, one of the biggest challenges is ensuring that this transformation is done thoughtfully. Many organizations are quickly adopting AI tools, but without a clear strategy or integration with their existing systems. This can lead to fragmented workflows, data inconsistencies, and missed opportunities.

I see a strong need for leaders who can bridge technology and business—designing systems that are not only innovative but also scalable, secure, and aligned with how teams actually work. The organizations that succeed will be the ones that treat AI not just as a tool, but as part of a well-designed operating model.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are integrity, continuous growth, and empathy.

Integrity is important in how I approach both my work and relationships. Whether it’s making decisions, collaborating with teams, or delivering outcomes, I believe in being transparent, accountable, and consistent.

Continuous growth has also been a key part of my journey. I’m always looking for ways to learn, whether it’s new technologies, evolving business models, or leadership skills. That mindset has helped me adapt and grow throughout my career.

Empathy is equally important, especially in leadership and collaboration. Understanding different perspectives and creating an environment where people feel supported and heard makes a meaningful difference in how teams perform and grow.

Together, these values guide how I make decisions, work with others, and approach both professional and personal challenges.
