Ten minutes with Raven

01What do you attribute your success to?

Resilience and adaptability.

My career has required me to navigate uncertainty, step into complex environments quickly, and continuously evolve. I’ve learned how to remain steady under pressure, pivot when needed, and keep moving forward even when the path wasn’t clear.

A strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

I take pride in doing meaningful, high-quality work. Whether supporting large-scale government programs or building my own consulting practice, I hold myself to high standards and believe that integrity and consistency create lasting impact.

The ability to learn fast and lead with clarity.

I’ve built success by asking the right questions, mastering systems quickly, and translating complex policies and data into practical solutions. This skill has allowed me to add value immediately in high-stakes roles and earn trust across teams and leadership.

Leading with empathy while staying results-driven.

Working in human services has shaped how I lead. I understand that behind every policy, metric, and deadline are real people. Balancing compassion with accountability has been central to my effectiveness and growth.

Purpose bigger than myself.

I am deeply motivated by legacy building stability, opportunity, and impact not only for my daughter, but for the women, families, and communities my work touches. That purpose keeps me focused, disciplined, and committed even during challenging seasons.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to never be afraid to speak out ,ask questions, share ideas, and advocate for yourself and others. Your voice has value, and using it is often the catalyst for growth and change.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to younger women in this field is to trust your expertise early, even when you’re still growing. Learn the rules, understand the systems, and don’t be afraid to ask questions or challenge processes that don’t make sense. Advocate for yourself, set boundaries, and remember that your voice and perspective are needed especially in spaces where decisions impact real people.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Worker burnout and low compensation continue to be major challenges in human services. High caseloads, emotional labor, and increasing compliance demands are often not matched with adequate pay or support. Addressing these issues is critical to retaining skilled professionals and sustaining effective, ethical service delivery.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, accountability, and balance are core values in both my work and personal life. I believe in doing the right thing even when it’s difficult, taking ownership of my impact, and maintaining boundaries that protect my well-being. I value empathy and respect in how I lead, collaborate, and show up for others, while remaining committed to excellence and continuous growth
