Her Story
About Rose
I oversee operations at AmeriCare San Francisco, managing both strategic partnerships and day-to-day service delivery. This includes maintaining relationships with healthcare providers, CNA/LVN schools, and community organizations, as well as coordinating educational initiatives for older adults, including cybersecurity workshops.
On the operations side, I lead teams responsible for client scheduling, communication, and a workforce of 60+ caregivers. I work cross-functionally with executive, clinical, HR, and marketing teams to align priorities and ensure smooth execution across the organization. I also leverage KPI tracking to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
In addition, I support leadership development by mentoring managers and team leads to strengthen consistency, accountability, and overall team performance.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I've had a few really fabulous mentors, both professionally and personally, over my career, as well as some really fantastic teachers throughout school, right back from when I was in high school. Through their support, they really encouraged me to keep growing, keep learning, and doing more. One teacher in particular, Helen Urquhart, was one of my teachers way back in high school who encouraged me initially to do that vocational education training program, and entered me in competitions. I think she ended up writing me a letter of recommendation for that scholarship that I ended up winning. She was an incredibly supportive teacher, helping her students achieve their goals.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don't be afraid to challenge yourself. Get out there, try new things, and don't be afraid to ask others for help.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It can be challenging at times, and there will be times where you might need to take a step back and take a moment for yourself. But there's also really rewarding moments when you get to speak to your patients and see the impact that you've been able to have on their life. Nothing can take away from that incredibly special feeling, and it makes it all worth it.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think, like many other industries at the moment, as AI allows us to do more, looking at ways to help streamline systems and processes using AI. That means that allows us to spend more time with our patients, building that personal connection, and less time on the kind of operational data entry busy work.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I always hold myself to a high standard in terms of if I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it right and to the best of my ability. I would never ask someone to do something that I wouldn't be comfortable doing myself, so if something just doesn't feel right for whatever reason, ask more questions, and if it still doesn't feel right, or it's a situation that you wouldn't want to put someone else into, don't do it. Also, question yourself and your way of thinking, because as I get older, the more I realize I don't know. Look for other resources, challenge your perspectives, talk to people that might not always agree with the things that you say, so that you keep learning and growing.
