Her Story

About Roxie

I was a teacher and counselor for 32 years, all in the same district, which allowed me to know families very well. I was on my third generation when I retired. In 2007, I was really at my lowest, personally and professionally, and my principal sent me to a speaker for professional development. I was resentful at first, but literally within 15 minutes, MK Mueller changed my life with this concept called the Power Pyramid. It hit me that I have a choice in how I am feeling and how I am living. I started teaching this concept at the 8th grade and high school level, and I did that for 17 years to students. When it was time for retirement, I became a master trainer for MK Insight Enterprises, and that's when I started speaking and traveling, getting the word out. I work for MK Insight Enterprises and do trainings for our company, training people from all over the world in a process that helps them have their happiest, healthiest, and most successful life. I've been professionally speaking now for 3 years. We live on a ranch, and when I'm not speaking, I love helping my husband take care of the cattle and driving through the pastures, enjoying the freedom of country living.

Ten minutes with Roxie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to realizing that I have the power of my thoughts. I can choose thoughts that feel good or not. That's the basis of our power pyramid, the thing that changed my life within those first 15 minutes. With everything now, I have the choice to lose my power over the groceries falling out of the bag, or not. From little things, when I train my brain for the little things, then the big things, I also am able to conquer with that attitude.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell them to really look inside of themselves and work on being the best person they can be internally, and not worry so much about what everyone else is thinking of them. I really think the more you know yourself, the better you are for your profession.
