Her Story

About Sonia

I'm a product manager with 5 years of experience working with small to medium-scale businesses across diverse industries including health tech, education tech, travel, fashion retail, and climate innovation. I'm currently pursuing my MBA in design strategy, set to graduate in May 2026, and actively seeking roles in digital product management with firms like Accenture and EY. My work focuses on developing new digital products, particularly in social impact and philanthropy. My approach is comprehensive, starting with deep customer research and delivering end-to-end digital product solutions. From a technical standpoint, I'm passionate about how humans are creating new technologies and how we can interact and upgrade different industries through technological advancements. This drives me to get to work every day. I also believe strongly in balancing my career with personal wellness through yoga (3-4 times weekly), cooking, and creating my own natural skincare and haircare recipes. I'm committed to supporting youth voices and gender equality, having worked as a communication strategist with Northern California makers to ensure young people have a seat at the table.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to three main things. First, from a technical standpoint, I absolutely enjoy how humans are creating new technologies and how we can interact and upgrade different industries through technological advancements. That drives me to get to work every day. Second, from an emotional perspective, I truly believe that even as a woman, I have faced a lot of gender bias situations in my past, like when I was really young in my undergrad. That was a huge motivator for me to really get outside and keep my opinions and voices heard, to have a seat at the table. That really drives me emotionally. And third, I strongly believe in combining these technical aspects with the whole feminine vibe that I enjoy, with all the rituals I do when it comes to my skincare, haircare, yoga, and cooking. Those activities keep me motivated to get back to work, because at core, I want to balance my personal and career front as well.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I think really finding their voice in terms of what they really believe in. Secondly, following their heart in terms of not really conforming to the voices around them when it comes to their career, but really leading with their heart and knowing which kind of career field that they would want to go. And lastly, I think really applying and putting themselves into even positions that demand two to three years or 5 years of work experience, but if you think that you are credible for that particular role, just do it. That's definitely my advice.
