What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my desire to help people in healthcare; realizing nursing wasn’t the right fit for me led me to mammography, where I could support patients and build meaningful relationships with those facing breast cancer.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Follow your heart and stay determined—even when the timing or circumstances aren’t perfect, persistence can help you succeed.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in my field is delivering difficult news, like a cancer diagnosis, while using the trust and relationship you’ve built with patients to provide support and care.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are helping others and giving back, which is especially personal since my youngest son has Down syndrome—I actively support and volunteer with the Special Olympics whenever I can.
