Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success in advertising and marketing to my determination, authenticity, and willingness to embrace discomfort as a catalyst for growth. I am committed to continuous learning and evolution, which has helped me stay relevant in a fast-changing industry. With experience in brand strategy and multicultural marketing, I have held leadership roles at agencies such as Huge, Spike DDB, and Jack Morton Worldwide, where I focused on strategic planning, project management, and client relations. This diverse background has enabled me to create culturally relevant, impactful marketing solutions and ultimately launch Society Redefined Consulting.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The most impactful career lesson I’ve received came from an experience where, while walking into the office in a C-suite leadership role, a stranger assumed I was an executive assistant based on my appearance. That moment underscored how unconscious bias can shape perceptions of women in leadership. Rather than discouraging me, it became a catalyst to be more intentional about challenging outdated assumptions about women’s roles in business. It motivated me to help shift how leadership is perceived and to expand definitions of success for women in corporate environments, while also reinforcing that there is nothing wrong with being an executive assistant—what matters is ensuring assumptions never limit how women’s leadership is recognized.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women entering the industry to be bold, use their voice confidently, and recognize their value at every stage of their career. It’s important to seek out communities and workplaces that align with your personal values and long-term goals. In advertising and marketing, today’s diverse consumer landscape demands authentic representation and inclusive storytelling. This shift in purchasing power makes it essential for the industry to reflect the audiences it serves, and there is significant opportunity for women to help shape that change.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value my family above all else and am deeply grateful for the support of my personal “tribe,” which has been instrumental in my success. Authenticity and accountability guide how I lead both personally and professionally, along with a strong commitment to diversity and creating inclusive, culturally relevant marketing experiences, particularly in empowering Black women in the industry.
I also place great importance on giving back to the community. Through volunteer work with organizations such as Meals on Wheels and support for underserved nonprofits, I use my marketing expertise to help amplify mission-driven voices. This reflects my belief in service, equity, and making a meaningful impact beyond corporate work.
