Holly Shockey
Holly Shockey is a veteran performer, educator, and advocate whose career spans over two decades of music, service, and community engagement. After 20 years as a singer in the United States Army Band, "Pershing's Own," Holly toured the world as a soloist, performing for audiences from intimate gatherings at the White House to troops in Afghanistan. Her time in the Army Band not only showcased her talent but also honed her people skills, which she later applied to roles in relationship management, membership services, and sales, including her work with the American Armed Forces Mutual Aid Association during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to her military service, Holly is a dedicated performer and educator. She continues to perform as lead soprano with the Uptown Vocal Jazz Quartet, traveling to jazz festivals and events around the world, and works as a freelance vocalist in the Washington D.C. area. Passionate about fostering musical expression in others, she founded Glee Club LLC, an after-school enrichment program that empowers children and, more recently, seniors to build confidence and express themselves through music. She has also coached private voice and performance technique, helping students of all ages find their voice.
Holly’s talents extend behind the scenes as well. She has produced a range of projects, from a television series for The Learning Channel, “Romantic Escapes” with Mike Rowe, to organizing major performances for the Army Band’s premier rock group, “Down Range.” Currently, she serves as Minister of Music at Memorial Baptist Church of North Arlington, guiding choirs, musicians, and soloists, while continuing her performance career and community initiatives. With a unique blend of artistry, leadership, and service, Holly remains committed to enriching lives through music and mentorship.
