How She Rebuilt Her Confidence After Financial Hardship

What helped me through financial hardship was keeping my faith and knowing that trouble doesn't last always.
Financial challenges may test our confidence, but they don't define our worth or determine our future. With faith, perseverance, and wise decisions, today's struggles can become tomorrow's testimony.
I managed my budget by cutting back on extra costs. I used local aid, food pantries, and did some part-time jobs, which was very beneficial for me.
During one of the most challenging financial seasons of my life, I learned that God's provision often arrives through unexpected pivots. What felt like a setback became an invitation to trust Him more deeply and step into a new season of growth, purpose, and possibility.
During March 2020, when working as a Site Coordinator for an education-based program funded by DHS, in Philadelphia PA., I encountered a financial hardship when laid off. I learned for the first time what it meant to be an Independent Contractor full-time. Networking to build a client base was a priority. I learned firsthand what it means to be resourceful, and I too learned to promote progress. Drafting monthly plans of action and staying the course were proactive measures well taken. For 3 years I did freelance journalism, tutoring, and data entry specialist projects for clients which kept me financially afloat until I was gainfully employed once more on a full-time basis.
It was 1982 and I was in the middle of a divorce. I lost everything. Broke and scared, I lost my home and my confidence. Then one week later the opportunity of a lifetime came, I was hired as the script supervisor of the TV series 'Miami Vice'. One year later the home I lost was up for sale and I bought it back. All the many lessons learned priceless. I learned to release control and allow God to lead me. I learned to trust that it's the journey that teaches the most. Lessons learned bring wisdom.
Financial hardship has been one of the greatest tests of my faith. Today Keeper's of the Kingdom has been approved to purchase our first women's stabilization home that we have been praying for, but we have no funds to move forward. Instead of allowing that to derail my focus. I am keeping my faith and trust on the One who has given me the vision trusting His timing and provision. Taking one step of faith at a time towards the One who is faithful.
