When She Realized Two Things Could Be True at Once
Letting go of either or thinking gave her a more complicated truth.
Letting go of either or thinking gave her a more complicated truth.
Holding two conflicting truths simultaneously is the exact catalyst that shattered my paralysis and reshaped my reality. I realized that mourning a past chapter does not mean it belongs in your future; you can be entirely grateful for where you were while ruthlessly choosing where you need to go. Growth does not require neat resolutions it requires the courage to inhabit the tension between who you loved and who you are becoming.
I can be grateful for everything that brought me here and shaped the woman I am today, and still decide that it is time to become something more. Learning that I can honor where I came from while choosing where I am going gave me permission to stop looking backward in remembrance and intentionally build the life and legacy that have been waiting for me to choose them.
